Aftercare Advice

For a couple of days after the treatment, you may experience the following symptoms on the treated area:

1. Tenderness, itching, swelling, redness, and dryness.

For at least 5 to 7 days after the procedure or until the area appears to be healed, include the following in your daily routine, or as advised by your technician:

1. Apply the provided moisturising balm at least 2 times a day using a clean cotton bud each time (to avoid infection)
2. If the area does get wet, do not rub, but pat dry very gently with a clean towel or tissue
3. Do not wear any make up on the treated area, until it is fully healed (to avoid infection)

*If you have ever had cold sores or herpes simplex in the past it is important that you continue to use medication for 7 days after your lip treatment, as you did 7 days before. This will help prevent an outbreak, which causes discomfort and could result in scarring.

Eyeliner

Eyelids may appear red and puffy after any eyeliner procedure but it will settle in a couple of hours up to a couple of days. It is advised not to use any after care treatments on the eyes. However, a saline solution Clinisept+ may be used to bathe the eyes if they are feeling tight or sore

Brows

Brows and the surrounding area may appear red, straight after the procedure but it will settle in a couple of hours. For at least 7 days, or until the area has fully healed (can take up to 14 - 21 days) apply healing balm provided by your technician.

1. For the first 2 - 3 days blot the treated area gently with damp cotton pad to remove any residue (lymph fluid) every morning and evening
2. Use a fine layer (size of a rice) of the given moisturising ointment 3 times a day or as needed (if the area feels tight and dry)
3. Do not tweeze for at least up to a week after the treatment and do not apply any make up on the area until it has visibly healed (can take up to 6 weeks)

Lips

Lips may appear swollen straight after the treatment, but it will settle in a couple of hours to a couple of days.

1. Apply moisturising ointment 3 times daily, or as needed (if the area feels tight and dry)
2. It is advisable to use a straw to drink fluids immediately after the treatment
3. If the area gets wet, blot gently with a clean towel or tissue
4. Avoid eating any spicy food for at least the first 24hrs after treatment

Important Do's and Don't's

1. Do not expose the area to any extreme temperatures. This includes sunbathing, tanning beds, saunas etc.
2. Do not submerge the area in water, avoid swimming pool for at least 7 days.
3. Avoid extensive sweating (running, gym etc.) for at least 7 days.
4. Do not use make up for at least 7 days and if you have had an eyeliner procedure, it is advisable to buy a new mascara to prevent any infection
5. Do not pick, scratch or rub the area or the colour will heal unevenly or cause scarring and infection.

Please Note:

The colour will be 50% darker straight after the treatment. It will fade during the healing procedure. The true colour will not be visible until the area has completely healed and a time of up to 6 weeks has passed.

To keep your permanent make up in perfect condition it may be necessary to have a follow up/retouch appointment every 12 to 18 months, but this will vary with each individual.

If you are planning an MRI Scan, Chemical Peel or any similar procedures, please inform your doctor/practitioner that you have had permanent cosmetics.

Laser hair removal can fade and change the shade of your lip or brow procedure, always advise your laser technician that you have had a permanent make up procedure done.
